Unlike acrylic nails shaped to your nail bed, press-ons come in a fixed set of sizes. The goal is to find the press-on that covers your nail from sidewall to sidewall — edge to edge — without sitting on your skin. Skin contact breaks the adhesive bond and causes early lifting. A well-fitted nail will feel snug, lay flat, and look completely seamless.

Method 1: Measure with a Tape Measure or Ruler (Most Accurate)

1. Hold a flexible tape measure or a small ruler across the widest part of your nail, just above the cuticle.
2. Note the width in millimetres for each finger.
3. Write down all 10 measurements — your dominant and non-dominant hands are often slightly different.

1. Cut a thin strip of paper and press it across the widest point of your nail.
